A young couple approached us in the latter part of 2020 for designing their 5000 sq. ft. apartment. Our first discussion over a Zoom session for the clients to understand our design philosophy and process led us to know that our vibes matched. The entire process became very smooth as their choices aligned with our firm’s design philosophy.
They were very clear with their basic requirements. The couple wanted a contemporary, minimal setup. Hence, we opted for a timeless interior design rendered with a Scandinavian and Zen feel.
It took us a little over a year to complete the work amid the second lockdown and various challenges that came along with it. The clients’ active involvement in the design process helped us craft tailor-made spaces suited to their lifestyles and needs.
As one enters the private lift lobby, a tinted mirrored panel catches your reflection, with a sleek horizontal unit cantilevered to store footwear and sit. On the right the warm wooden tones of the main door and panelling greet you. To the left is another passage making way for the building staircase and other lifts.
Formal and family living area windows open out on the terrace and act as a visual connection. Faux Venetian windows with tinted mirrors and white louvres act as a play to enhance the terrace.
Opposite the terrace doors, a hidden door opens to the home theatre. Along with the door, the wood panelling also camouflages a switchboard made by Digital Dreams from the same veneer that is used on the panel.
All four bedrooms of the apartment are equal in size and formation. They are positioned at the 4 extreme corners of the floor plate. Each bedroom has a small area for walk-in, an attached bathroom and a balcony. Two bedrooms are accessed from the family living zone and the other two are from the formal living area.
