Located on the 46th floor of a Mumbai High Rise, this elegant dwelling serves as the residence for a young couple, their daughter, and their beloved Shih Tzu companion. The client’s vision is characterized by stark minimalism, featuring open spaces, pristine white walls, and only essential furnishings. The heart of the home unfolds in the double-height living room adorned with a striking black-textured wall, commanding attention with an art piece, thoughtfully placed off-centre.

To the left, the open kitchen, typically exposed but transformable when needed, conceals itself behind 10-foot high aluminum sliding panels with fluted glass. The living space seamlessly extends onto an open-to-sky balcony, adorned with captivating black-and-white chevron-patterned tiles—a cherished spot for family sundowners and morning yoga.

Adjacent to the living room, the dining area hosts a collection of captivating pieces, including a custom-designed dining table featuring amber-colored crystals set within a carbon platform, supported by a black metal cylindrical base. The adjacent bar unit, an exquisite statement piece, is entirely clad in brass panels of varying sizes, meticulously oxidized and then PU coated to prevent further oxidation.
The dining unit boasts a combination of open shelves and storage, finished in black PU color and natural teak veneer—a perfect complement to the overall minimalistic look.

For a truly seamless aesthetic, specialized door frames and shutters from WALTZ doors were meticulously chosen to create an unbroken visual flow along the white and black walls.
The modular kitchen from FCML—Ernestomeda, an Italian brand, seamlessly integrates with the overall aesthetic, as do the furnishings from MINOTTI, Italy, and the OBEETEE carpet, collectively contributing to the desired minimalistic ambiance.

Moving from the dining area to the guest bedroom, a versatile space comes to life with a Murphy bed for guests, transforming into a king-sized bed when needed. Storage solutions in this room house travel memorabilia, cherished Lego creations, stone collections, and a well-curated book collection.

The powder bathroom, accessible from the dining area, embraces concrete finish tiles for both flooring and wall cladding. A live edge wood countertop, accompanied by a black stone washbasin, stands out in this space, with an amoeba-shaped mirror design injecting fluidity into the rigid structure.

The elegant staircase, a testament to thoughtful design, blends comfort, sturdiness, and timelessness. Metal treads, clad in real teak wood, appear to float from the walls, camouflaging the metal plate within. A simple white Corian railing maintains the house’s overall simplicity while marking the transition from concrete tiles to wood flooring.

Upon reaching the upper floor, the transition in flooring continues with real wood flooring from HAVWOODS, encompassing the family room, master bedroom, and the daughter’s room—an intimate family space.
The family room, featuring a MINOTTI Blazer sofa and a sizable projector screen, is the go-to spot for Saturday lounging and entertainment. A fully stocked pantry and coffee machine keep weekend ventures downstairs minimal. Notably displayed is Sanjay Kumar’s rendition of The Buddha.

The daughter’s bedroom, reflecting her youthful spirit at the age of 9, incorporates her favorite shades of color and a custom-designed, softly printed wallpaper. The study table and vertical storage provide ample space for her growing book collection, with the bathroom echoing the same pastel hues and terrazzo accents.

The master bedroom embraces bare minimalism with a dark blue fabric-covered MINOTTI Reeves bed. Concealed storage solutions behind fluted panels cater to practical needs, ingeniously camouflaging
essential maintenance elements. The master bathroom exudes luxury with grey matte tiles from Nexion and a black artificial marble counter, housing both a bathtub and shower area within its expansive layout.

This contemporary and chic family home radiates serenity through its minimalist design. Despite its minimalistic appearance, the attention to detail and the realization of simplicity reign supreme.
