The Granary at Southlands, nestled within the expansive Southlands Tsawwassen master-planned community by Century Group, represents a unique blend of urban living and countryside charm.

Southlands is North America’s largest agrihood spanning over 530 acres, 80% of which is active farmland and natural parkland. The community seamlessly blends urban living with the natural beauty of the countryside, promoting a lifestyle that is centred around agriculture, sustainability, and community.

The Granary offers a boutique collection of 35 homes including 1-bedroom garden flats and 2-3 bedroom stacked townhomes located in the vibrant Southlands’ Market District. Every home features a private ground-oriented front door, large windows to maximize natural light and sea breezes, high-efficiency air heating and cooling, and private covered outdoor spaces with views of the Market Square or the garden courtyard.

The Granary’s contemporary architecture was designed by Vancouver-based MOTIV Architects and takes inspiration from traditional agricultural buildings with simple massing, pitched rooflines, and large windows. On the outside, a garden courtyard creates a backyard oasis of flowering trees and planter boxes. A shared BBQ and food prep area with harvest table and catenary lighting sets a festive mood for al fresco dining.

Vancouver-based design firm Ste. Marie Design Studio curated the warm interiors that celebrate the surrounding area of Boundary Bay with beach-inspired finishes and colour schemes. Bright, airy interiors were accomplished with over-height 9’ ceilings on main living levels, and soar up to vaulted heights in some of the townhome bedrooms. Of course, the kitchen is the highlight in this community so rooted in farming and food. Large central kitchen islands, plenty of open display shelving, and premium Fisher-Paykel appliances inspire the joy of cooking.

Bathrooms were designed to start each day with a spa-like experience, including heated porcelain tile floors, illuminated vanities with medicine cabinets, and rainfall showerheads.

Four Winds Brewing Co., known for its award-winning craft ales, is opening a retail shop, restaurant, and destination patio at Southlands in Summer 2024. The collaboration emphasizes local sourcing, with ingredients from Southlands used in brewing, strengthening the connection between the community and the land.

The Granary aims to create a strong sense of place within Southlands. The partnership with Four Winds Brewing Co. contributes to this sense of place, aligning with the vision of connecting people with farming and food. Proximity to Four Winds Brewing's restaurant and craft brewery is a major selling point for residents, offering upscale pub fare and award-winning craft ales within steps of home.

“We had a vision—to connect people with farming and food. The Granary brings that idea to fruition. Our partnership with Four Winds Brewing—and their new restaurant—creates a strong sense of place. The design of the homes, the social spaces within, and the connections to Market Square make The Granary uniquely Southlands. To date, it’s the project that best expresses our vision.” Sean Hodgins, President of Century Group

The Granary at Southlands offers a unique opportunity to experience the best of both urban and rural living in the heart of the Southlands community. With a commitment to authenticity, sustainability, and community, The Granary sets a new standard for modern living, redefining what it means to be connected to farming and food while enjoying all the conveniences of urban life. It's a project that caters not only to those seeking a home but also to those seeking a true sense of place within a thriving community.
