Where art and business intersect. Where structure becomes beauty. Where history meets today…
This insanely cool historic warehouse space, affectionately known to its owners and the Denver art community as The Garage, is about to change hands, potentially forever changing its function and purpose. For the better part of the last 20 years, The Garage has served one of Denver’s finest philanthropists - as a private art studio, art gallery and occasional event space. Originally purchased in a state of complete disrepair, it has been lovingly restored, and infused with love and light. Every corner of its 5100+ square feet has been artfully curated, and specifically designed to support one of the great Renaissance men in Denver. From his days as a hero in the 10th Mountain Division, as a soldier/photographer in World War II, as a painter, and as a business leader, he’s never abandoned his love of art and beauty – and this space is the physical embodiment of a life well-lived.
Built in 1924, The Garage features original concrete floors, exposed timbers, barrel roof with four enormous skylights, steel roof trusses and a host of other architectural elements and materials not often found in buildings created in this day and age. But that's just part of the story. The true value in a property like this comes from the owner - and the "soul" that he and his family have infused into the property. There's an energy and a lightness that is difficult to quantify, but is palpable to all who spend even just a few minutes in this remarkable space.
It is the hope of the family that whomever takes over as the new owner of this legacy property, that they cherish this space as much as the current owners do...
