The living area, with a sheepskin on the sofa by Sixpenny as well as another on the floor for cozy footing. On the walls, you can find relics the previous owners as well as a print of the Seven Sisters and an original charcoal portrait of Willie Nelson. Cactus photography is from the previous owners, taken during their local hikes over their decades here. String instruments line the walls along with a Taylor, ready to play within arms reach. Plants are everywhere here along with propagated cuttings. We like to get an abundant root system going before giving them to a loving home, and then we propagate a new plant!
Living area from another angle. Here you can see we like to bring in work from many different cultures including the woven wall hanging from Sweden, the twig hanging from Africa, many Southwestern and Native American flavors. Coming from Dutch decent, you'll find a couple pairs of klompjes (wooden shoes) as well as a windmill piece or two.
The tiny, but expansive, kitchen almost smells like lentil soup upon first glance. Mixed nuts with crackers make for an engaging center piece when company is over. Everything is within arms reach, including the one open shelving for the plates and bowls. Comes in handy when you're stuck stirring a pot and need to grab a dish!
The ample walk in shower has a large window which opens up to the back patio and vast desert beyond it. The outdoor tub is actually right beneath the shower, so a couple could potentially have completely separate spa time and stay connected at the same time! The open vanity is custom made from black limba. And there is a hidden closet opposite the vanity that pops out of the wall with one good push.
A closer look at the vista from the tub. Lightweight rope pendant light above lets the wind through easily and casts beautiful shadows at night. We also have many globe moroccan solar lanterns peppered around at night as well as lights illuminating the circle of five trees in the enclosed portion of the yard.

On a scenic 10 desert acres we call Atlas Ranch, this rustic 1954 cabin, has been renovated with focus on keeping it's 1950's homestyle charm intact. It's a time capsule with modern conveniences. We put all new appliances in- wifi speakers, a smart art tv, a vintage soaking tub on the back porch overlooking the desert hills; and filled it with cases of books, loads of plants, and whimsical + nostalgic relics (including one original charcoal portrait of Willie Nelson!). This cabin is a modern twist on homestyle Americana design. A soft place to land. While picturesque and cozy, the cabin is also a very thoughtful and heartfelt in design and curation.
