This custom home utilizes elements of our Standards, and reimagines their execution to create a shed roof, winged layout, and front and back elevations that each present a very different read of the house.
This custom shed roof home is best read in two parts. The first part is the entry. It is low, long, positioned along the grade and secretive. There are no through-views and the windows on this side of purposefully minimal. The second part is on the rear facade, where the walls disappear, glass replaces siding, and the entire view is forest. It's open, permeable, and invites you to head outside.
The rear deck wraps around the side of the principal bedroom and the shed roof cantilevers over this outdoor area. This is a special, protected and outdoor experience we designed - for our clients with kids, cousins and guests - to give them a place to find some privacy.
