Sidecar ADU

Wanting to downsize their lifestyle after retirement, the clients chose to build an ADU in their backyard to move into. The ADU looks inward, facing the hillside of Deb's Park. This allowed CGA to develop two separate outdoor spaces for privacy and autonomy, and make the most of the natural setting. The ADU calls back to the orginal 1946 house through its raw application of materials. Vaulted ceilings and polished concrete floors match the main house. The red corrugated metal exterior is a modern take that invokes the traditional stugas of the clients' Swedish heritage.
