Shelter Island Retreat

The clients of the Shelter Island Retreat wanted to establish a stunning home with a surrounding area that offers plenty of individual and group relaxation opportunities. We worked alongside our clients to design and construct an addition to expand their house; the new area boasts a large living room and dining room, separated by a custom double-sided wood-burning fireplace with a metal surround. Additionally, there is a new large functional kitchen with a built-in bar and extra guest rooms on the lower level.

A spacious detached garage was constructed on the premises to accommodate our clients' cars and recreational gear for their summer activities. The garage's backside boasts a covered porch, perfect for hosting guests, with a view of the new pool and a custom outdoor cooking area. In collaboration with Dirtworks Landscape Architecture, we designed an outdoor area that connects the two buildings and the pool. The space includes native gardens and offers various options for different activities of different group sizes.

To blend the interior and exterior seamlessly, we designed various covered and open outdoor/indoor spaces for our clients to unwind and entertain.
