This single-story, minimalist oasis is a testament to the harmony of architecture and environment in the rolling hills of Austin, TX. Unifying the gravity of open-floor design with massive glass, Sean Shin materialized his vision of boundless space.
“I wanted a simple, minimalist design with a continuous feeling between inside and outside.”
The essence of Sandeul Breeze is captured by the central great room. Upon crossing the threshold, a massive wall of sliding glass frames the rolling hills and illuminates the open-floor interior. The space seamlessly integrates the kitchen, dining area, and a commanding electric fireplace. White marble flooring stretches across the room, mirroring the tranquility of the environment. Running parallel above, a raised, wood-finished ceiling adds a touch of warmth and houses a state-of-the-art sound system. Connected to the great room and just beyond the fireplace, an open entertainment area pairs its massive mounted TV with a fully-stocked bar and wine room. Its two Persian green walls provide a refreshing juxtaposition to the soft tones of the great room. With a fully pocketing Slide system, the entertainment area can open completely to the outdoor patio for unhindered access.
“The entertainment area was a big focus throughout the process. We installed a pocketing Slide with hidden sill to achieve that continuous experience.”
On the west edge of the home, a studio room complete with professional recording software is an outlet for creativity and draws inspiration from its own private scenic overlook. There, two fix windows not only enhance the aesthetic, but acoustically insulate the environment. Through another opening, a hallway just to the right of the entryway features a guest suite, bathroom, and a full-scale golf simulator. The guest suite faces the driveway with a massive Tilt+Turn window configuration that offers the opportunity for natural airflow or complete egress. Wrapping around the poolside patio from behind the kitchen, the master suite is the pinnacle of tranquility. With minimal décor, it highlights the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape and encourages peaceful relaxation. A corner-opening Slide operates in both directions to reveal unique pool access when open, and a beautiful view when closed. The attached master bath features a glass wall facing south for privacy while preserving the home’s access to nature.
“Visiting the LuxView showroom, I fell in love with the design and contagious energy. The decision easy.”
