Pl. Richelieu Residence

Nestled in Montreal's historic Golden Square Mile, Pl. Richelieu is a graceful residential redesign of an English-style home approaching its centennial with renewed vigor and style. We delicately balance the traditional charm of its surroundings with a fresh, feminine sophistication while introducing light, refined and whimsical elements throughout.
We were assigned to keep the original kitchen cupboard fronts and dark wood island but softened the space by balancing it with a “fantasy brown” natural stone with hints of baby blue, brown, and a little pink. In the dining room, rounded furniture shapes and a playful ceiling light complement the newly refurbished red oak floors, restored to their natural warmth to lighten the overall ambiance. This touch of whimsy continues into the living room, where a bold blue velvet sofa makes a striking statement against the softer backdrop, enhancing the home's feminine flair.
Perhaps the most striking of the redesigned spaces is the powder room. Our signature approach is on full display here with a deep blue botanical wallpaper from House of Hackney and a custom-made sink in gorgeous blue stone, crafting a bold, enchanting statement.
In the home office, we moved away from a stuffy and formal space and towards light and calmness with floral drapery patterns and lush fabrics.
The principal bedroom is a serene sanctuary featuring a custom-made headboard in two-tone lush greige mohair with built-in lighting fixtures from Visual Comfort, providing a perfect space for respite and rejuvenation. This room, like the rest of Pl. Richelieu, perfectly blends the traditional details of the home's storied past with modern, feminine sensibilities.
