House located in the commune of Lampa, rural area norponiente of Santiago de Chile. A Hermetic and open house at the same time. A first floor closed around the perimeter that contains two courtyards at the longitudinal ends of the house and between them is a common space for the kitchen, dining room and living, this configuring a linear and successive space between three continuous situations that always are connected to both courtyards, creating an interior composed of interior, intermediate and exterior spaces. An access patio and a service patio, which are also a winter patio (north) and a summer patio (south) respectively due to the conditions with which they face the sun and the temperatures of the area. The second floor, a more private space for the bedroom, but at the same time the most exposed to the outside, connected with two terraces, a small, rather a balcony, to the south and a large one to the northeast. From these the near and distant landscape of the surrounding hills to Lampa opens that surround the whole landscape, besides plantations of Walnut tree towards the south and some great Rocks towards the East. An skylight window on the bedroom, lets you see directly into the sky and illuminate the space overhead. Both levels with states by a staircase of 120 cm, transforming it rather into a space that achieves different views towards the outside depending on the direction in which it is traveled. All this responds to the routine that lives in this house.
Formally it is understood as a rectangular and closed bar that can be understood as the base where the second floor is transversely supported, which opens to the whole context thanks to the height gained by its base. The constructive system of the house is mixed, mixing wood joinery for pillars of foundation, beams, internal and external partitions, coatings and floor; Sip panels for first floor slab and perimeter walls of the first and second floors; Finally, Steel for the floor and cover structure of the second floor and pillars of the volume flown from the bedroom.
