P587 Apartment

With a privileged view of the Santa Catarina coastline, P587 is an apartment in Reserva Recife, a high-end development in Praia Brava. Designed as a vacation home for families who host guests, the space emphasizes social interaction and fluid transitions between rooms. The integration of the dining room, balcony, and kitchen encourages dynamic and generous use of the social area, conceived to accommodate multiple simultaneous activities without unnecessary partitions. The curved window, a landmark of the building’s main façade, frames the landscape and opens the entire space to the horizon.

The atmosphere of the integrated living space is shaped by custom carpentry, furniture selection, and the materiality of the finishes. The light, matte, porous flooring is covered by the regular pattern of a wool rug, which marks the area intended for lounging. On top of it, a Maestro sofa traces a gentle curve that echoes the building’s façade, facing a custom-built shelving unit with braided straw details. On the opposite side, another curve references the building’s volume: the lowered ceiling of the integrated kitchen is clad in the same wood that covers the walls. The wood’s grain and tone contrast with the grayish marks of the stone used on the kitchen island countertop and in the finish of a niche that cuts through the kitchen wall, forming the sink and cooktop area.

The variety of finishing materials and the formal restraint in the design of the space’s organizing elements create a delicate composition in which the simplicity of the design is balanced by the tactile and visual richness of the environment.
