RENOVATED HOME FEATURES GENEROUS OUTDOOR SPACES, INVITING SOCIAL AREAS, AND A WARM COLOR PALETTE IN A PROJECT BY GOIVA ARQUITETURA
A young couple with a baby approached Goiva Arquitetura to transform their home in Vila Madalena, São Paulo. Their main goal was to create a residence with welcoming social areas and generous outdoor spaces—something they missed while living in an apartment. They also wanted an integrated kitchen, a completely renovated primary suite, a child’s bedroom, a home office, and an independent-access room to be used as a psychology office.
The project focused on optimizing the home’s three levels, creating cozy, multifunctional living areas. On the ground floor, a new entrance was created at the center of the façade, establishing a continuous layout that connects the living and dining areas. A more private TV room was incorporated into the space, along with a small office.
The kitchen was reimagined as a large organic-shaped island surrounded by functional cabinetry. Open to the living and dining areas, it became the heart of the home’s social life, as the clients envisioned.
Upstairs, a rooftop terrace with a barbecue and solarium was designed to host family gatherings and social occasions. The primary and children’s bedrooms were completely transformed using earthy tones and wood elements, complementing the decor throughout the house. Bathrooms were refreshed with new finishes in neutral tones and wood, bringing both comfort and elegance.
On the lower level, the previously built area was converted into a garden, now providing natural light and a serene backdrop to the adjacent bedrooms. External staircases surround the garden, improving access to the house from the garage.
The arrival experience is marked by a striking portico, framed by a lush garden and a bold concrete volume that welcomes visitors.
The material palette and color scheme draw inspiration from Mexican architecture, brought to life through warm hues and natural textures. Pink tones set the tone for the house, accented by corten steel details and custom woodwork.
