This home is a warm modern design with 2400 sq. ft. It has qualified as Leed Platinum and GreenStar Gold status and been given an award from the Sustainable Furnishing Council. It produces enough solar energy to run itself and fuels two electric vehicles and this past year three additional neighborhood homes.
Designed by Marc Sloot of Sala Architects and Lisa Peck and Christina Rymer of LiLu Interiors, the home was designed with sustainable materials, sourced as locally as possible. In addition to it's Net Zero focus the design also features aging in place and healthy home principles.
The homes small but not tiny footprint contains carefully planned storage and spaces that live like a larger space.
It's owner's intention was to have the home reflect the native proverb " We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.
