We were hired to turn this three bedroom single family home into a five bedroom, four and a half bath home for a family of six. We fully remodeled the existing interior and exterior, and added on a fourth floor and rear addition.

The interior was carefully laid out to allow for flexibility as the family grows. It includes open living spaces for time enjoyed together, and a variety of bedroom and bathroom configurations.

The new fourth floor consists of a primary suite and a roof deck with southern views of the city. The exterior remodel includes new windows, doors, stucco, and paint. The goal was to achieve the more modern feel the homeowners desired, while still complying with the Planning Department’s guidelines for this property.

We also completed a full rear yard remodel which included digging and new retaining walls to even out the steeply sloped yard, making it more functional and bringing more natural light into the second floor dining and kitchen area. Three large multi-sliding doors, one at each of the top three levels, also help to bring in more natural light.

We partnered with Noz Design for the fixtures, finishes, and furnishings. Their team made sure the home is family friendly while still being stylish - to be enjoyed by all four children as well as their parents!

The majority of this project, from design start through much of the construction, was completed while the clients lived overseas. We are so grateful that these homeowners trusted our team to create their dream home in San Francisco, and hope that it continues to serve their family well for many years to come!
