From Anna Maria Abara

The owners of this modern apartment, a young couple with good taste and a clear vision of what they want, approached architect Arianna Ahmad with the task of creating a highly functional and comfortable space, with the mandatory presence of bright contemporary art as an accent.
In the 90-square-meter area, Arianna reconfigured the layout, redesigning the entrance hall, entryway wardrobe, living room, dining area, kitchen, master suite with its own bathroom and walk-in closet, guest bathroom with a transition to the laundry room, and a study. The loggia was also incorporated into the living room, making the common area even brighter thanks to the abundance of windows.

Throughout the apartment, utility areas and storage spaces are meticulously planned. In the kitchen, a special niche was designed for a refrigerator over 90 cm wide, hiding it to maintain the overall composition. Similar niches were created for washing machines in the guest bathroom, and the laundry area is concealed behind a curtain.

The apartment owners like contrasting combinations of light and dark, as well as cool shades and blue tones. As a result, the entire interior is built on a beautiful palette of gray-blue tones. On the dark gray Valcucine kitchen fronts, elements of matte glass look particularly striking.

The lady of the house practices yoga and is drawn to themes of nature, so noble natural materials were used in the finishes. Large windows with low sills are specially finished with wood, adding coziness to the space. Each windowsill can be sat on to admire the view and the houseplants placed on them.

“For each room, I meticulously designed the lighting, considering all possible usage scenarios,” notes the project author. Special lighting in the bathrooms beautifully highlights the expressive texture of the ceramic granite. In the guest bathroom, the Salvatori marble looks extraordinarily impressive thanks to the lighting.

“We carefully and joyfully selected each item for this apartment together with the owners, spending many hours searching for the right furniture, fabrics, and decor,” continues Arianna. For example, the bedroom now features a stunning Dudet chair by Patricia Urquiola from Cassina with soft upholstery, as well as a minimalist dressing table from Living Divani and wallpaper made from rapidly renewable abaca fibers by Phillip Jeffries.

Arianna takes pride in the fact that, out of all possible options, the homeowners chose this bright polyptych from the “Happiness Pills” series by artist Asya Feoktistova for the living room. The piece fits perfectly into the interior, adding character.

As a result, the project author succeeded in creating a light and well-thought-out space that provides the apartment owners not only with a high level of comfort but also with aesthetic pleasure.
