From Kate Brown

We're two East-Coasters who took our Sonoma County home from 1964 to 2024. Sticking to the mid-century modern theme we updated the home to include an open floor plan, added an additional bathroom and made the house more functional for our growing family. During the renovation we got pregnant, eloped and moved back into the house with our 4 year old labradoodle right before our nugget was born. We worked with a great architect and design team (woman founded), brought in a dog-park friend turned contractor to execute on the job and we couldn't be more proud. We sourced vintage pieces, from our 1920s rug in the living room at an Antique Fair in Petaluma, to utilizing Facebook Marketplace to score Restoration Hardware, West Elm and Hermes finds. We commissioned some great female artists for their artwork, Sabine Maes, and Kirsten Sadlier (friend from college), we truly wanted to incorporate our girl gang into our home. Lastly we found pieces throughout California; art from Hero in Sebastopol, our dining room bench from a church built in the 1950s in Vacaville, our antique dining room table from a winery in Napa. Our heart and soul went into this renovation and hope you like it!
