When a young couple moved from Houston, Texas to East Williamsburg, they chose Alicia
Hassen of Brooklinteriors to transform their new construction, blank slate condo into a one of a
kind space they could call home. Along with capturing the couple's playful and eclectic
personalities through vibrant patterns and rich textures, the interior designer was also tasked
with maximizing the 1,100 sq. ft. space to include two home offices for the couple, both of
whom work from home.
By turning the second bedroom into a living area and taking advantage of the home's ample
closet space, Alicia was able to provide comfortable work spaces that inspire productivity. To
bring the design to life, Alicia partnered with Brooklyn mill-shop, Good Dog Rosie who produced
the build-ins, including two custom desks with overhead floating shelves. A built-in floor to
ceiling media cabinet houses post-work worthy entertainment and offers plenty of storage to
display books and keepsakes from the couples' travels. The use of wallpaper and paint as a
backdrop to the built-ins defined these spaces while offering a seamless transition into the
boho inspired lounge areas.
The unit combines wallpaper from Tilton Fenwick x Hygge & West, Wayne Pate x Studio Four
NYC, and Cole & Son via Anthropologie. A moody color palette features Clare Paint's Dirty
Martini, Current Mood, and Goodnight Moon as well as Rangwali by Farrow and Ball in the
kitchen. Statement rugs from local shop Dyphor in Williamsburg, Etsy, and Lulu & Georgia.
