We used GridFree solar panels which provides enough energy to run a small fridge, the lights throughout the cabin and to charge a phone.

The cabin is orientated north to ensure the solar panels soak up as much light as possible during summer and also those low lying sun winter months.

The cabin can house four adults comfortably with the queen size inbuilt bed and a queen size mezzanine overhead, reached by ladder.

Ply has been used throughout the cabin to add a sense of warmth, which is also reminiscent of the traditional kiwi trampers huts.

A perfectly clear spring water river supplies the water, wood burning stove the warmth and solar panels the energy to run this small footprint cabin.”
