In a partnership with the UK-based Architecture Studio Pensaer London, Ian Dunn Woodwork & Design designed an entirely bespoke Kitchen for the Lyndhurst Grove Extension Project.
The clients had clear ideas for their design concept- a contemporary handleless look with seamless surfaces, high gloss panels and a strong central piece, giving the kitchen a floating sensation. With this in mind, IDW&D worked on designing a unified white look, making the most of the kitchen’s small space and light.
Internally, all shelves and drawers are made to fulfil the client’s use of the kitchen and maximise organisation- from magic corners, pull-out drawers and cutlery drawers to shelves.
The Island and its Worktop become the central piece of the project, in a collaboration between Ian Dunn, the head designer of the Studio and Dekton, resulting in one solid worktop block with the dimension of 3.00m x 1.237m and a 'shark nose' edge.
This, combined with sleek and classic American White Oak dovetailed drawers, the high gloss panels and the countertop made out of the same Dekton Entzo material gives the project a visual continuation that makes the internal space seem bright and light.
Finally, the Plinth Lighting set at the bottom of the Cabinetry and Island makes the whole project float in light, shaping the way the kitchen is seen and lived in.
With extreme attention to detail to fulfil the initial concept, this project shows the incredible design mastery and experience that Ian and his team have built over the last 40 years in business.
