From the Architecte Sarah Lanoue and the Engineer Jean Rheault, La Cabine is an Ocean Coast house intergrated in the wild nature. It is located at 950 km north of Montreal, incapsulated in the Forillon National Parc in Canada.
The beginning started of a properties investement strategy with emerging values , securing the wild nature aspect, not exposed to Urban development.
Sarah design a Scandinavian style with mezzanine, using full opening on the ocean south side with glass curtain wall.
To keep the nature inside/out, the house is mainly an open loft with a mezzanine equipped with glass rails. Have also a glass sauna with ocean view. The kitchen is SS restaurant limited but efficient equipments, where induction cooking plate and the island counter, are on wheel so they can get out to the wary. Also, the furnitures have rolling gears, easily transforming the setup for the moment purpose.
The Material is mainly natural cedar provided from a local wood mill; outside walls, the roof, the inside ceiling, sauna, outside shower.
Sun Passive Eating, is from the full glass wall facing south, with a roof visor, to limit the summer Sun. The 2 feet concrete floor, accumulate at his best the heat of the day sun, to help extending the heat at night time. The passive sun heating is assisted with electric glycol floor, and wood stove.
La Cabine is equipped with fast Optical Fibre iNternet access, providing remote control with wifi connected Glycol, door lock, bell, cameras, etc.
Outdoor. there are 3 famous Salmon Fishing Rivers, Hunting clubs, Appalaches trekking trails, whales watching boats, kayaking with the seals, winter cross country ski trails.
