Hotel Henry Urban Resort at Richardson Olmsted Campus

A modern urban resort in an historic architectural masterpiece and former State Hospital.

The hotelier wanted a modern interior that complimented and payed homage to the original intent of architect Henry Hobson Richardson. The formidable fortress-like exterior provided a sense of security for the mental health patients of the former hospital, but the interiors were bright and airy. HH Richardson believed in the therapeutic quality of daylight, therefore huge and plentiful fenestration reigned down light on patients, and continues to do so today for guests of the hotel. Colors are bright, soft and muted in most common and uncommon areas, with a few punches of signature hues in reception/lounge areas.
