From Guerilla Construction

1956 residence in Green Spring Valley by architect Charles M. Nes Jr. (1906-1989) receives a contemporary renovation that compliments the mid century architecture.

Scope of work completed:

Rethinking of a servants kitchen and maids-room staircase to seamlessly integrate the outdated spaces with the grand design of the rest of the home.

The living room’s cathedral ceiling was extended to the kitchen. Skylights and new windows were added to fill the space with natural light. Heated terrazzo floors were installed. Custom millwork walnut fronts were designed to mimic the original teak found in the living room. Yarn pendant lights by Hay Lighting were added. A custom millwork coffee pantry finished the space. 8609 Park Heights is a design + build project by guerilla construction.

The result is a warm space you might be convinced is original to the house.
