Originally built in the 1980s, the home - redesigned by Thornton Design - was taken down to the studs and redesigned for a family's needs. The family and their three young children had outgrown their home and purchased another one just before the pandemic hit. What started as a renovation of a few areas turned into a full home renovation with new electrical, flooring, bathrooms and millwork.

A combination of black, warm neutrals, and accents of gold and navy were used to give this home an elegant infusion of color. Durable, yet gorgeous materials were selected to withstand the rigors of family life, such as a stunning black and white quartz slab and backsplash in the kitchen, a 10-foot marble dining table, and a mudroom to house boots and jackets. A full wall of custom-designed 3D panel millwork and furniture designed by Thornton to bring warmth and comfort in the family room.
