Family of 10

It’s not every day an interior designer gets to design for a family of ten (soon to be eleven!!) and man, it was a blast!! The general vibe of this entire project was consistently fun, filled with energy and laughter, with only minimal bouts of general chaos with 8 little ones running around! It became clear early on, that this joyful family could handle lots of color, and we absolutely ran with it! The bright pinks, mint, and yellow-oranges in the rug created a color story that we just can’t get enough of!

We selected the faded denim upholstered captain’s chairs for the parents, because they’ve earned it, raising 8 kids and all. Then we originally intended to include 8 of the West Elm leather dining chairs, but when we heard that they may or may not try for number nine, we decided to opt for 4 leather dining chairs on one side and a long custom dining bench for the other side. We love the flexibility of a dining bench when you’re just not sure how many hiney’s will need seats!

The distressed wood custom dining table by L.D. Jordan creates a relaxed and casual feel that encourages guests and visitors to be themselves! This dining room is the perfect reflection of the heart of this special family of 10 and any room inspired by authenticity is a sure fire winner in our book!
