This striking European chateau was a personal project of Leila Douglah, the owner of Douglah Designs. It began with deconstructing a 1950’s ranch-style house from the roof to the ground and recycling all of the salvageable materials.
Leila wanted a country house with steep gables and European charm, and she personally designed the new house according to her vision. Visitors are greeted by a stone façade with hand-forged light fixtures at the front gables. French-oak hardwood floors provide a welcoming transition into the living spaces that are accented with reclaimed wood timbers throughout. Exquisite details abound, including limestone Scagliola stonework surrounding the fireplaces and kitchen hood. Even the property was completely landscaped to evoke the experience of a quaint European garden. Every square inch of this home showcases custom details, luxurious products, artisan craftsmanship and the best the industry has to offer.
