A home of classic sophistication tailored for a large family

In this thoughtful renovation project, we tailored a two-story home to perfectly align with the lifestyle of a large family. The owners, with three children, sought a space that was both functional and comfortable, tailored to their unique needs and preferences. They acquired a property ripe for renovation, where reconfiguring the layout was crucial for optimizing square footage and maximizing natural light in previously darker areas.

The living area serves as the heart of the home, comprising two interconnected spaces separated by wall openings: a spacious living room ideal for relaxation and entertainment, and a dining room seamlessly connected to the kitchen. This design fosters family interaction while maintaining the independence of each area, ensuring functionality and comfort in daily life.

The kitchen, with its enduring classic style, features paneled cabinetry adorned with golden knobs. Its L-shaped layout, complete with a central island, is particularly functional. To visually lighten the space, select cabinets boast glass doors, perfect for showcasing dinnerware or decorative items.

The master bedroom is an intimate and elegant retreat, featuring a walk-through closet with parallel wardrobes leading to a fully equipped bathroom. The bathroom includes a shower, a bathtub, and a toilet discreetly hidden behind a frosted glass door for added privacy and style.

A surprising element in the hallway is a guest bathroom cleverly concealed behind a paneled green wall with decorative moldings. This adds vitality and contrast to the predominantly neutral tones throughout the home.

Aesthetically, the transformation is stunning. The design draws inspiration from classic refinement, with moldings adding symmetry and elegance to the walls. Classic cabinetry and furniture enhance the overall harmony of the design.

Finally, the home includes a versatile second floor, currently used as a play area for the children and a workspace. With its own bathroom, this level is ideal for accommodating the family’s future needs, offering flexibility to evolve with their changing lifestyle.
