This 74-square-meter apartment, located on the 22nd floor of a new residential complex in Moscow, belongs to a vibrant and successful young woman who is a partner at a major company. She approached designers Alexandra Dashkevich and Olga Oleynikova from AND Design to create a comfortable residential space tailored for her needs. Her vision included an open kitchen-living area, a separate bedroom, a guest room, an office, and two bathrooms.
"Since the apartment was essentially a bare shell, we designed the project from the ground up," Alexandra noted. The designers altered the developer's original layout to include an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area, a master bedroom with its own walk-in closet and bathroom, a small guest bathroom with laundry facilities, and a guest room that doubles as an office. In the guest room, the space was organized to facilitate relaxation, exercise, and comfortable working conditions at a desk by the window.

“From the outset of our discussions, we encouraged the client to immerse herself in contemporary art, discussing how specific artworks could capture her personality and enrich the space,” Olga says. “She became very enthusiastic about this idea and by the end of the project, had even assembled a small art collection that we integrated into the interior. This approach is one of the most valuable for us because it instantly brings the owner’s spirit into the interior.”

While planning the color scheme, the designers discovered by chance that the client was originally from Altai. She was particularly drawn to the colors in a painting by an artist whose work incorporates Altai imagery. This revelation gave Alexandra and Olga a clear vision for an interior that reflects the client’s roots, inspiring and energizing her for the future.

The chosen main finishing materials included wood and paint in both muted and vibrant colors. Wooden elements of various shades and species create a natural harmony in the interior. An ochre shade was used on one of the living room walls, matching the vertical oak-veneered slats. The guest room is separated from the living room by glass doors, allowing the bright, warm tones of one room to balance the fresh, sky-blue color in the other. The bathroom features practical, cool-toned porcelain tiles complemented by warm-toned beech veneer wall panels.

The client incorporated some of her previous furniture into the new design, including dining chairs, an entryway pouf, and a sofa for the guest room, all of which fit perfectly into the new interior. Alexandra and Olga selected the rest of the pieces based on the overall stylistic concept. Many items were custom-made according to designs developed by AND Design. A multifunctional wardrobe in the entryway includes built-in electrical panels on one end and an open shelving unit on the other.

“For this project, we chose plaster lighting fixtures that are paintable and recessed into the ceiling, providing an unobtrusive lighting solution,” the designers share. The ceiling in the combined hallway, kitchen-dining, and living area was painted a soft sand color to visually unify the space.

Throughout the project, the client's openness to new ideas and creative experiments enabled the team to create a space that truly reflects her lifestyle.
