Melrose Modern Zen Oasis for Award Winning Director, Writer, Producer & Creator – Danny Lee

Danny Lee, the creator of CALICO, is a 100% BIPOC-owned, award-winning production company + branded agency dedicated to authentic + impactful storytelling through inventive filmmaking. TECTCA Associates were tasked with designing a home inspired by Danny’s character, culture, and humanity while sustaining purpose and meaning within all aspects of the project.

Focusing on the opportunity for multiple roof top views, TECTA completed this residential remodel + expansion utilizing harmonious and clean materials with a cohesive contemporary style suitable for a Melrose neighborhood. Providing unique elements from the central staircase with floating threads, vertical fins that screens the exterior staircase reaching the roof, to full height windows at the center of the dining space to create a more open concept.
From start to finish - they developed a scheme, provided permit drawings, and coordinated all detailing + finishes in the field with subcontractors.
