Bridge View Residence faced more than the typical obstacles of a desert build including unusually restrictive zoning and setback conditions along with a difficult build site. Abutting a desert wash and steep drop-off in the land, the plot didn’t offer many options for creating a beautiful sprawling home. The location also had limited views, and the clients wished to be able to see both mountain and valley views while also celebrating the desert wash. Our solution was to elevate the main living space and master suite, bridging over the first floor. Placing the social spaces such as the living, dining and kitchen on the upper floor created the landscape and surrounding views desired by our clients.

The exterior is a composition of concrete block forms in varying textures, smooth stucco, exposed steel, ample use of floor to ceiling glass and soaring metal-clad roofs to protect the interior from the desert sun. The result is a fresh contemporary, highly liveable home that maintains a low profile so as not to obstruct views for surrounding neighbors.
