The sunspace, with floor grills to allow solar heated air to rise in winter. Mass Timber walls store the heat energy. In the summer, awnings shade the windows, and the same grills allow heat to rise and escape through the attic windows in summer. Foolproof, simple, innovative.

This Brandywine is an off-the-grid Geo-Solar home in the Stanislaus forest area of California.
Chosen for its off-grid self sufficiency, earthquake resistance, and fire resistance, it was built by a fireman and his family from an Enertia® pre-cut numbered kit, manufactured in North Carolina.

Batteries in the "powerhouse" covered in PV panels provide all the electricity in this isolated area.
