This project involved refreshing an existing room at the rear of a row house from the 1920's in a cost effective manner. This existing back room was built approximately in the 1970's, without insulation. New cladding, steps to the garden, insulation, windows, flooring, doors, and a skylight were added. The interior uses plywood to create a rustic, relaxed environment. General and task lighting provide flexibility for various uses; whether for reading, studying, watching TV, or napping. The general idea was to make the most of an existing shed-like appendage to the house and turn it into a space with better functionality.
