We have renovated an apartment unit in a very contemporary building in New York City. We have tried to reflect the lands' original aura into the space by bringing some local industrial touches but tried to be
not too thematic.
All glass building already gave us the advantage of the views of the surrounding buildings and we brought that view inside by adding some brick wall cladding emphasizing the addition with some indirect led light strips and paint color changes.
In The Living Room, the wall by the kitchen was the only wall to place some much needed extra dining room storage but it also would clash with the existing open kitchen. So we have added some thickness to the wall and embedded a custom made dining cabinet within that space. We have done it so as if we were adding a bracelet to the wall and emphasized the addition by contrasting paint colors giving the space depth and warmth.
We also used some indirect led light strips to accentuate that wall and create atmosphere for nice dining parties.
We also added a decorative architectural Sculptural light to give that wall more character and clear the transitional space.
In Master Bedroom, We have again added brick wall as a backdrop but this time we pained it to white. We wanted a very calm serene bedroom so we played with the shades and textures of white.
We also have designed a new custom closet for this room.
We used some strip and indirect lighting again to create some warmth in the bedroom.
