Kitchen looking South towards the garage / backyard with windows at the stair landing and above stair. A flared opening of white oak reveals a cluster of pendants from Heather Levine as they fall from the two-story light well above the white oak island. The stair beyond is built of cold rolled steel and white oak shelves which filters the light from above. A dutch door sits between the window system of the stair landing and exterior wall allowing access to the backyard garden and garage.
Kitchen from the dining looking West towards the side yard with layers of filtered light from beyond the stair as well as the light well over the island with emerging cluster of custom ceramic pendants from Heather Levine. This space opens freely to the Family Room -a gathering space to read or watch television - to the right.
Additional seating at the island for informal rap sessions with mom and dad. Kitchen looking West towards the side yard with layers of filtered light from the South facing windows at the top of the adjacent stair as well as the light well over the island with emerging cluster of custom ceramic pendants from Heather Levine. The kitchen is balanced with planes of white oak, white Cle tile, stainless steel appliances and Carrara marble.
Kitchen looking East towards the dining with side yard and driveway beyond. We love the soft layers of filtered light from the dining table sliding door as well as beyond the stair and light well over the island with emerging cluster of custom ceramic pendants from Heather Levine. Floor, light well cavity and flare as well as the custom cabinetry and shelves are made from white oak including a solid white countertop at the island.
From the top of the stair, we gaze beyond the stair landing below to trees and side yard fence enclosure. A half-circle welcome mat of jute outlines the backyard access door (see dutch door in previous images of kitchen and dining). The stair is built of white oak with a cold rolled steel and white oak shelf guardrail and top rail. Tom Dixon brass globe pendants provide "fish-eye" reflections of the staircase.
At the top of the stair, one arrives to landscape beyond amongst house plants. Access to an outdoor roof terrace enclosed with frameless glass guardrail sits above the garage with grand vistas of the south beyond. The stair is built of white oak with a cold rolled steel and white oak shelf guardrail and top rail.
From the front of the house, one is welcomed inside with a seating arrangement in the Living Room .
Outside the Living Room, the exterior of the children bedrooms and bathroom are clad with reclaimed wood siding to obscure the doors. Exposed ceiling joists, painted white - a nod to classic beach bungalows - break the path of ever changing natural light throughout the day.

Skylights above with exposed ceiling joists brings an ever changing natural light throughout the day. Looking towards the backyard with a glimpse of the feature stair beyond in the kitchen.
