The first thing that caught my attention in this gorgeous bachelor pad by NYC interior designer, Darci Hether, is the entryway. The homeowner is an avid art collector and wanted his art collection on display, so the entryway doubles up as a gallery with high-gloss lacquered wallpaper on the ceiling, a statement light fixture, and the flooring flaunts a striking inlay pattern. The perfect space to complement a tasteful art collection. My favorite is the table in the center with a custom tabletop made of parchment pieces in various sizes to create a Mondrian style grid pattern.
The designer has carried forward this artistic theme to the rest of the apartment. The dining room exudes relaxed sophistication with comfortable seating — reupholstered Holly Hunt dining chairs — and a geometric Lindsey Adelman light fixture that adds drama to the setup. The flooring in this space is hardwood in a herringbone pattern.
The living room is an ode to Hermès, accessorized with accessories and textiles from the French luxury label. The custom floor cushion, area rug, and decorative throw pillows (in the dining and living room) are all Hermès. To accommodate more storage and for easy accessibility, Darci installed a custom cabinet behind the living room sofa, which houses two refrigerated drawers and enough space to store glassware and liquor. I love the elephant figurine that sits atop the cabinet when not in use. The Holly Hunt coffee table in the living room has a beautiful bronze inlay and is surrounded by comfortable seating options. Another noteworthy feature of the living room is the desk that belongs to the homeowner, and Darci gave it new life by painting it in a high-gloss lacquer.
The master bedroom is an oasis of style and tranquility with a textured, grasscloth wall covering in a neutral tone. A custom built-in further enhances the bedroom's sleek look and flaunts signature Darci Hether asymmetrical bronze bands that return to the drawer pull. The master bathroom is an extension of the stylish bedroom and has a spa-like quality with white marble, a custom vanity, and bespoke scones by Modulightor.
The clean-lined elegance and aesthetic of this apartment are perfect for entertaining guests and spending alone time. It has everything one needs to enjoy their home space: a calming palette, beautiful artwork, and a fine balance of luxury, functionality, and style.
