Introducing "Best Bread" (“Lepshy Khleb”): A Bakery-Coffee Shop in Minsk

Embarking on a journey of creating a unique interior style experience with a love for craft sourdough bread, steeped in tradition, cultural heritage, and the connection with nature, I have meticulously designed a bakery space that transcends the ordinary, evoking a sense of nostalgia, celebrating individuality in this world.

From the very beginning, my client's vision was clear - to infuse the interior with elements of their family history. With utmost respect for preserving and repurposing, I incorporated a piece of barn board from their grandfather's barn into the design. This reclaimed wood found new life as tables and even graced our cash register, offering a tangible connection to nature while you wait for your order. I believe that the touch of natural materials is a true luxury that should be treasured.

The future bakery premises were already blessed with stunning features - soaring ceilings, abundant natural light streaming through expansive windows, and an enchanting view of sunset rays. Though I had some constraints, such as existing window colors and floor tiles, serendipity worked in my favor as these materials seamlessly aligned with the concept. My aim was to recreate the atmosphere of an August sunset amidst a rye field - where warm sunbeams mingle with ripened grains, about to become bread. It's a moment suspended between twilight and dawn, symbolizing new beginnings and the aroma of fresh bread. Within this ambiance, you'll find echoes of childhood memories at your grandmother's stove, adorned with rustic white tiles and bathed in the gentle glow of a light bulb. It's a place that exudes warmth and tranquility.

Lighting plays a pivotal role in our design, casting a unique and atmospheric glow that accentuates every texture within the evening space. The warm hues envelop you, creating an inviting haven.

As you step through the entrance, your eyes will be drawn to a captivating centerpiece - handmade lamps crafted from recycled paper and cardboard by the esteemed “Zbozhzha” design studio. These exquisite lamps boast intricate shapes and textures, bearing the enchanting names "Pershy Vulei" and "Pachvara." My furniture selection echoes natural forms, resembling delicate spikelet scales. The weaving on the sofa backs and upholstery serves to emphasize the presence of human touch and craftsmanship. I take immense pride in sourcing furniture from local manufacturers, showcasing their exceptional talent within our interior. Complementing this artistic ensemble are sculptural ceramics by Katerina Zhiznevskaya and exquisite handmade dishes by Oleg Zubov and Sofia Galagan.

At "Best Bread," we celebrate the fusion of artistry, nature, and culinary delights. The interior design is a testament to the collective brilliance of talented individuals who have contributed their passion and expertise to create an unforgettable space for you to savor every moment.
