This 1920’s English Cottage located in the Historic District of a small town in Texas called Hillsboro, was in desperate need of a complete renovation. Homeowner, Laura Crawford, purchased this house to be closer to her grandchildren, so she called in the help of Interior Designer, Baylee Floyd of Baylee Deyon Design to help her bring this potentially charming house back to life.

The goal of this project was to take this house so full of history and make it current, while still utilizing all the original pieces from the house. Using the original glass door knobs, original floors, original fireplace (just refinished), original claw-foot tub (re-dipped), all the way to the floating picture ledge shelf above the sofa found underneath this house; just about everything is as original as it gets.

During renovations, a former owner dropped by and brought a family photo album to share with the crew of how his childhood home looked in 1944. If only walls could talk!
