This residential project is nestled in the picturesque Newlands Village, alongside the Liesbeek River. The design features a striking double-volume living area that seamlessly opens to a spacious covered veranda, creating a harmonious connection between the house and the natural beauty of the river. The covered veranda serves as an inviting outdoor space for relaxation and entertainment, allowing residents to fully appreciate the tranquil surroundings.

Given the site's southern exposure, the design strategically opens the living spaces to the north, ensuring ample natural light while showcasing stunning mountain views. This thoughtful orientation not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the home but also contributes to energy efficiency, reducing the need for artificial lighting during the day. The vertical circulation within the home is elegantly integrated into a double-volume gallery space, which features a salon-style art wall.

In alignment with sustainable practices, the house is equipped with a photovoltaic (PV) and battery system, enabling it to generate its own power. This renewable energy source significantly reduces the home's carbon footprint and utility costs. Additionally, a sophisticated filtration system draws water from the river, promoting efficient resource use while ensuring the household has access to clean, safe water.

The project not only enhances the beauty of its surroundings but also embodies a commitment to sustainability and modern living. With its innovative design and eco-friendly features, 7 Lemon Lane stands as a remarkable example of contemporary residential architecture in Cape Town, providing a perfect blend of comfort, style, and environmental responsibility.
