The generous size of the plot, located on the outskirts of the town of Mirano in the province of Venice, allows for the design of a new single-story residential building.
The concept behind the project arises from the desire to respect and enhance the surrounding context by drawing inspiration from the distinctive features of traditional agricultural architecture in the area. These formal elements are reinterpreted and integrated into the new building through a contemporary approach.
To minimize the visual impact of the new home, the design adopts a linear layout with a gabled roof.
The choice of materials and finishes reflects a careful study of the site and its context. The traditional materials used in local agricultural buildings served as the basis for the design.
The building's exterior draws on the colors and textures of rural architecture, evoking the local atmosphere. Climbing plants, which provide natural shading for the porch, are reintroduced as a key element, while wooden beams extend around the perimeter of the building to form overhangs. Rough, textured surfaces are used in the exterior masonry, further connecting the new construction to the area's architectural heritage.
The interior spaces are characterized by high visual permeability and generous natural light. Large glass openings in the living areas create a seamless connection between the indoors and outdoors, reinforcing the sense of continuity between the two.
