The new Paloma Barcelò flagship store in Madrid is located at the ground floor of a historic building in the heart of the city. The access is from Calle de Claudio Coello and leads to a sequence of spaces in succession, themed through different display systems.
Inside, the design intervention is aimed at preserving and enhancing the morphological characteristics of the existing environments through a minimal use of materials and furnishings, the result is an exhibition space with a refined and essential character and the contrast between the golden metal of the furnishings, the rough plaster of the walls and the stone covering of the floor.
Sinuous metal sheets with a thickness of 3 mm support the display, making the products re-jump on a neutral background, the custom-designed furnishings act as real architectural devices that articulate and hierarchize the interior spaces.
The shop is made up of a long succession of spaces at different heights, where the study of materials and lighting is aimed at recreating a domestic dimension.
