The Duck + Duckling Series is a playful celebration inspired by true events. In 1959, a Danish police officer stopped traffic in order to let a young family of ducks across the road. Inspired by the newspaper photographs, Hans Bølling designed the duck and duckling figures to playfully commemorate the event. Now icons of Danish design, the figurines are handcrafted from teak and feature smooth, rounded forms and exaggerated beaks.

Originally designed by Joe Colombo in 1965, the 4801 Armchair was the only piece made entirely of wood that Kartell ever produced. A symbol of 1960s design, the original armchair had a limited production, and is a much sought-after historical piece. Reissued in 2011 in Kartell’s signature plastic, this 4801 Armchair captures the elegant, sinuous lines of the original design. Available in three distinctive colors—white, black, and transparent—the 4801 Armchair is an undeniable statement-maker that is at once sculpture and functional furniture.

Recalling the look of the classic Bauer Pottery design from the 1930s, the Beehive Coffee Mug from the Bauer Pottery Company of Los Angeles features a pronounced handle and a tall profile that is reminiscent—as the name aptly indicates—of a beehive. With undulating ridges that climb the mug just like a hive does in nature, the mug has a sculptural and organic sensibility.
