Sculptural Pendant Lights from Moooi

Dutch company Moooi was founded in 2001 by Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissers. The name derives from “mooi,” the Dutch word for beautiful, and the company maintains that the extra ‘o’ in the name represents the heightened value of beauty and distinctiveness that it strives for. Click through the slideshow to see some of our favorite Moooi pendant lights.

The Raimond Zafu Pendant is a sculptural fixture inspired by the pure beauty of mathematics—it was created to be both systematic and organic, and resembles a star-filled sky when illuminated.

The Random Pendant light is created when a resin-drained yarn is randomly coiled around an inflatable beach ball. Once the sphere is set, the beach ball is deflated and extracted through a round opening.

The Raimond Pendant Light features a speherical silhouette, which is both soft with its rounded lines and geometric with its symmetry. The result is an elegant, eye-catching light that would complement a modern interior.
