Pushing the Envelope

Proto Kenyon Residence, Photographed by JC Buck.

This projects asserts Proto’s commitment to the development of diverse expressions of design language, providing for versatility within our selection of system-built homes. From the outset of this project, the intent was to express more than mere volumes, while leveraging the advantages of the system-built delivery method. By wrapping a tectonic screen onto the building facade that floats on top of the stereotomic volumes, the envelope gains a sophistication of character. In order to successfully deploy these complex elements on-site as prefabricated components, Proto uses proprietary production methods that result in a degree of precision typically not seen in residential design.
