New Smart Home Tech Eliminates Wi-Fi Deadzones and Offers Top-Level Internet Security

As home get smarter, they're also becoming more vulnerable. From security cameras to smart phone-controlled coffee machines, every aspect of our homes' functions are incrementally becoming more exposed to outside digital access. One startup, Luma, is offering a new system of WiFi routers with cutting-edge security, parental control measures for children's online devices, and more.

Luma's strong signal is the backbone for other smart home technologies—such as Philips Hue lights, Nest's Learning Thermostat, Canary, or August Smart Lock—to easily reach their respective smart phone apps via the web. However, Luma's high-level security doens't mean adding new users or devices to the network is a challenge—no password scavenger hunts are required.
