Modern Entry Way Accessories
Whether an entry hall, mud room, or foyer, the area for ins and outs has a habit of becoming a cluttered mess. Coats, keys, wallet, cell phone, spare change, bag, bike, etc. all get dropped off as you come home and need to be handy when you're rushing out. Here, we share eight pieces to help organize and beautify your entry way.
MUIR WALL COAT RACK
Well isn't this clever! Rather than toss your coat on the sofa and mail on the coffee table, here's an all-purpose rack that will take care of all your in-and-out-the-door accoutrement. Made from reclaimed Douglas Fir, it could take the place of a hallway console, freeing up space and clearing up clutter.
LOOP MIRROR
This clever mirror (and built-in shelf) would be so handy in a number of places around the home, but we picture hanging it by the front door to eliminate the mad morning dash looking for keys around the apartment while allowing one last quick glance to make sure our face is all present and correct. Designer Nazanin Kamali created this birch ply and oak veneer piece as one element in her Loop collection—along with a bed, bedside cabinet, and longer, larger floor mirror—for British company Case Furniture.
COIN STORAGE
Rather than forever futzing around with the contents of your pockets—leaving piles of nickels and dimes around the house—let this handy change container from Japanese design team ideaco & associates collect your coins and keep your keys where you can always find them again. Put it by the front door and you just might be surprised at the amount of money you amass.
Board By Design's handmade shelf lets you hang your bike by its saddle, handling any and all bike shapes and sizes. Your bike will look as if its floating elegantly by the wall. Better yet, The Bike All shelf has two hooks for your helmet and bag. Place your smaller belongings on the top shelf—there's even an opening for your cell phone charger. The all-wood unit is especially handy for the space-deprived, measuring in at only 20-inches long and 7-inches tall.

MAREK GUT COMMODE
We couldn't help spotlighting this retrofuturistic piece of furniture by Polish designer Marek Gut. The so-called Commode (we'd probably associate a different kind of object with such a name, but in this case it's something of sideboard) is a practical storage chest that capitalizes on its design-driven angles by containing shelves of various sizes and shapes.
