Modern Art - Aspen Chromatic Shifts - SW Studio

A collection of paintings inspired by color, shape and texture of the high altitude mountainous landscape during the peak of the Fall season when the Aspen and Cottonwood trees create a color spectacle across the land. Ridge lines and forests shift chromatic hues vividly during a 2 week spell in late Autumn. Turning from Summer Greens to bright yellows to oranges to reds to rusts to browns. The wide angle landscape creates islands of floating color. I chose to focus my painting on the shifting patches of vibrant color as it relates to the mountainous landscape at large - Sarah Winkler / Painter
