Historic Stable Becomes a Modern Guesthouse

Ibiza Interiors enlisted Standard Studio on a project that turned their 200-year-old stable into a guesthouse and showroom on a mountain in San Lorenzo, Ibiza. The new contemporary interior of Little House in the Campo respects the historic details of the structure by using basic materials throughout. The result is a relaxing blend of modern and rustic, new and old.

While they managed to salvage the walls and parts of the roof, everything else was in disrepair from sitting unused for years. The architects had to install electricity, water, and sewage to make the house functional for modern times. Solar panels were added to provide hot water (from a private well), in-floor heating, and electricity. Now, the house is self-sustainable and completely off the grid.
