Daily Needs by the Belgian studio segers is a modular prototype that’s one part chicken coop, three parts urban farm, as it includes components for a raised vegetable bed, composting bin, and tool shed.

The integrated closet can be accessed from inside the coop, or outside.

Built for a budget of $7,000, the Chicken Coop by Tall Architects was their first project completed as a firm, in 2014. And combines the coop on the side with a garden shed and storage space, as well as a covered porch. It’s composed of corrugated metal, corrugated plastic, treated lumber, and cementitious siding, with triangular timber trusses supporting an eight-foot cantilever.

Bay Area Coops designs and builds custom houses for all sorts of farm animals, in addition to chickens. The Golden State Coop was a custom project for Stephen and Ayesha Curry. It accommodates up to ten chickens, and includes the coop and a walk-in run, with an attached pergola.

The front exterior double door opens to access the nesting boxes.

A decorative dowel wall offsets the double doors on the façade. The doors on the side open to access the hen’s perches, and make for easy cleaning.

Heart pine wood covers the ceiling, and a ladder leads up to the nesting boxes.
