Fuel Up at These Super Charming Coffee Shops

Here at Dwell, we're always on the lookout for coffee shops that are as passionate about design as java. Drawn from our archives, these are six delightful cafés where you can relax and recharge.

In addition to surfboards, wetsuits and beachwear, Saturdays sources and sells rare books, fine art and other surf-inspired lifestyle products. In summer 2011, the shop expanded their line of branded t-shirts to include a collection of oxford shirts, boardshorts, sweatshirts, and chinos. The collection is sold at their brick-and-mortar shops as well as through J.Crew, Colette in Paris, and Beams in Japan.

Fuse designed Verve's Pacific Avenue location concurrently and wanted to tie the two spaces together aesthetically. The salvaged douglas fir from Seabright also clads the counter at this space and was used on the shelving. The counter is capped in Caesarstone.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters has an outpost in the trendy lobby of the Ace Hotel in New York. The duo decked out the walnut bar and enormous light with brass trimming, high-gloss painted wood shelves that are stacked with vintage coffee makers and jars, and flooring got clad in travertine.

The eensy Central Hotel & Café in Copenhagen is a single-room inn located above a charming old world café, replete with quaint touches like filament light bulb fixtures. Guests are treated to a complimentary organic breakfast, but all passersby are invited to sample the menu, which includes espresso, Americano, and iced coffee.
