Built-in cabinets and open shelving illustrate a few design strategies: Use humble materials thoughtfully, and make place for stuff.

Inspired by Moroccan hammams, the designers used tadelakt plaster and zellige tiles in the primary bath.

“I knew it would be good,” says Trey of the primary bath, where sunlight washes the Tadelakt plaster in the tub and shower area. “I didn't know it would be this good.”

Instead of a kitchen island, an ovoid dining table provides definition between the kitchen and the living room. The dining table is from Bontempo and the overhead pendants are by DePadova.

In the kitchen, high-gloss lacquer cabinets from Armazem Design help reflect views of surrounding trees. Miele appliances and a pair of Sub-Zero freezer drawers complete the kitchen.

The color of the 'Unfold' hanging lamp by Muuto harmonizes with the armchair in the living room.

The bathroom is a “compromise” for the couple, as Michelle didn’t want tile, and Augustin preferred the space to have a darker wall finish. They agreed to ensconce it in charcoal-colored plaster. The stools are by River Valadez.
